Day, your guide to becoming a cybersecurity engineer is really helpful, especially for those without a typical tech background. I'm curious, though, how do you keep these certification programs current with the latest cyber threats? Also, it'd be great to know more about how non-tech folks can apply their unique skills in this field once they switch over. Plus, could you share some resources or communities that help you stay updated with new vulnerabilities and threats?

Hi Jedidiah. Regarding keeping certifications current, I believe this should be approached differently. The goal should not be to maintain your certifications but to ensure your skills are up to date, as not all certifications align with industry trends, and renewing them can be quite costly.

For non-tech individuals, identifying a primary common denominator between their current skills and a crucial cybersecurity skill is essential for applying those unique abilities. If you possess something that mildly correlates to a cybersecurity skill, double down on that and make it one of your strengths.

For communities, I admit I'm biased, but I highly recommend Cyberwox Academy - https://discord.gg/cyberwoxacedmy. We have a live news feed that shares updates on new attacks and threat actor trends.

I hope you find this helpful :)
